Is Erica still full of herself?
Is Jackson still her bitch?
Is Bianca still gay?
Is Kendall good at acting slutty?
Is Aidan sleeveless/shirtless yet again? (Hey, it's not like it's a bad thing.)
et al

This is to analyze, dissect and basically rip apart all our favorite and hated characters.
Is Erica still full of herself? Is Jackson still her bitch? Is Bianca still gay? Is Kendall good at acting slutty? Is Aidan sleeveless/shirtless yet again? (Hey, it's not like it's a bad thing.) et al |

Kari and I were discussing an older episode a few days ago, and remembered that Bianca was horrified at her mother after Frankie died. Because Erica wrongly believed that just because it looked suspicious, Bianca had gone nuts and killed Frankie.
Yet, just a few months later, Bianca was all over Kendall for torching her house, and refused to give her the benefit of the doubt, just because it looked suspicious. Hypocritical much? |

Eh, if I knew that someone who hated me and my mom was in my house without permission and had described the dercorations in a certain room, I don't think I'd be giving them the benefit of the doubt either.
As for the Frankie thing, Erica really had nothing to be suspicious of Bianca about, she just immediately jumped to that conclusion unprompted. |

Ok, I have a question about Aidan. I've only been watching sporadically this summer so I don't really get what the point of him being on the show is. Yes he is really beautiful and should be legally required to never wear a shirt, but what does he do? I mean besides be Anna's nephew and have sexual tension with Kendall. Not that I don't like his character, I just don't really know who he is.

As far as I can tell, Aiden exists to looks pretty and have sexual tension with Kendall. OH and build a penthouse or something. I don't know. I'm distracted by his hotness. Who needs background?

Yeah, that's pretty much Aidan in a nutshell. He was brought in to pave the way for Ryan's departure. Now he just kind of floats around all sleeveless and shirtless. Not that I'm complaining...

See, I wouldn't mind if he was shirtless a bit more if it kept him from talking so much. The dude is very fine looking. It's totally ruined when he starts blathering and stuttering up his lines. He needs to talk less.

You know, the recent Kendall/Mauria scene prompted me into thinking about just how many times these two characters have crossed lives over the years, despite having had very little actual screentime together. Ever.
Back when SMG played Kendall, she was married to Anton while Maria was married to Edmund, making her Kendalls aunt (twice removed); a fact Kendall pointed out recently a few weeks ago. Then came Del. While he and Kendall were writing a book together, it was revealed that hed fathered a child with Maria back when she was in college. Shed miscarried and never told him, or anybody for that matter, and ended up with fertility problems as a result. Once Del got himself a kidney out of Dixie, he started making eyes at Kendall and they ended up leaving town together. Fast-forward seven years later. Kendall dallies with Aidan, who rescues damsel-in-distress Mauria and develops an unrequited crush on her. If Mauria sleeps with Aidan (which I really hope she wont), itll make it the second time she and Kendall have shared a man. And did you know that Mauria and Kendall are chronologically very close in age? Maurias tombstone thingie at Wildwind said she was born in 1967 and Kendall was born somewhere in the neighborhood of 1969 or 70. Yeah, Ive put too much thought into this. Cut me some slack, Im currently battling with insomnia. |

That's an interesting set of coincidences. I wonder if they're going to do more with the Kendall/Mauria rivalry, or if Del will get dredged up during a cat-fighty scene.
I was completely floored by Edmund this week, starting when he grabbed Mauria and shoved her up the stairs. It just looked like their relationship took a very sudden, very nasty turn, and I'm really uncomfortable with it. I'm not sure if I think they're doing a great job acting out the anger, or if I just really hate both of the characters right now. |

I've never much liked Edmund. I merely tolerate him on the best of days. His behavior during Mauria's return has not exactly endeared him to me, to put it nicely. Especially lately with his wrongful imprisonment and drugging. Fucking hypocrite if I ever saw one.

I think the writers have forgotten who Edmund is, so they keep reinventing him. He used to be this funny, life-treated-me-horribly-but-I'll-manage guy, and then he was Bitter!Man over Hugo and Dimitri, and then he was I Love My Brother!Man, and then he was psychotic, and then he's The Great Dad, etc. etc. Now he's a bit schizophrenic: Is he grateful to have Maria back, and understanding that she's been through hell, or is he Hugo, locking her in her room, drugging her, and demanding that she explain her friendship? And what's with the Lord of the Manor attitude that makes him sound so cavalier about throwing around all that money he didn't have his whole life, hiring a whole security team and research team, and acting like he has been bred to be the Marik heir? They need to figure out who Edmund is, write all his character traits on a poster, and stick it up on the wall in the writers' room. Of course, they need to do that with a lot of the characters.

Word. The only character that seems to be consistent is Erica. And that's not a good thing. Cheerleader tryouts were over thirty years ago. Find a new schtick.
I really like the comparison of Edmund to Hugo. I'd all but forgotten about that backstory and now it makes perfect sense. All we need is someone to point this out to Edmund and he'll probably freak out and correct his ways. Lord knows this always works on Kendall. She'd be fun to have around for the fourth of July. Make a comment that she's like Erica, then stand back and watch the fireworks. |
